The commander made the remarks while speaking at the 2025 edition of the West African Social Activities (WASA), organised by the brigade in Obinze, Owerri, on Saturday.
He said WASA was necessary to allow soldiers to unwind while remaining vigilant and protective of Nigerians.
He added that WASA was adopted as part of the Nigerian Army’s regimentation to reinforce civil-military cooperation and showcase Nigeria’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.
He further thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, for his commitment to peace in Nigeria and for supporting the brigade’s activities.
