Nollywood actor and filmmaker Jamiu Azeez has responded to the backlash he received for attending a crossover service in church.
The actor on his Instagram page, questioned people’s criticism, stating that he has a right to choose his religion and faith. Jamiu added that he never announced that he converted to Christianity, stressing that he only attended a crossover service.
“It’s only in Nigeria people are so bothered about another person’s life. Imagine telling a man in his 40s how to live his life. I posted myself in white garment on the crossover night and mehn, the comments I have been reading on blogs, especially on Facebook, are crazy. Some even came to my DM to drag me… I can choose to practise any religion and that should not be anyone’s problem. I never even came out to say I have converted o,” he stated.
The actor, while stressing his freedom of choice, noted that he can decide to become a traditionalist if he wants, urging Nigerians to respect his choice
“No worry, I go wear babalawo cloth tomorrow,” he added.
