AFCON 2025: How Super Eagles must play to avoid shock against Mozambique – Oliseh

Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, has advised Nigeria’s coach, Eric Chelle, on how the team should approach their 1XBET AFCON Round of 16 match against Mozambique on Monday night.

Nigeria and Mozambique will face each other for a place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Oliseh said the Super Eagles must treat the game seriously and play with the same intensity they showed in their last match against Uganda.

Speaking on Global Football Insight, Oliseh said every team at the knockout stage is under pressure and that no team should be seen as weak.

He warned the players not to underestimate Mozambique and stressed that the game must be taken seriously from the start.

Oliseh added that although Nigeria are the favourite to win because Mozambique finished third in their group, the Super Eagles should focus on playing their normal game and qualifying.

He concluded by noting that Mozambique are a good side and beating them would further strengthen Nigeria’s confidence and tactical belief.
