Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has stated that a well-organized and clearly identified membership base positions the party for stronger grassroots engagement and greater electoral success.

The Deputy Governor said this on Wednesday after completing his e-registration for the membership exercise embarked on by the All Progressives Congress (APC) at A4 Ward, Epe Local Government Area, Epe, Lagos State, which formally commenced on Monday to formally recognize and validate party members across the country.

The Deputy Governor noted that the initiative is designed to enable the party to accurately determine its membership strength across the country.

He explained that the APC previously relied on manual membership records, adding that the ongoing exercise serves as a revalidation process to ensure that the party’s register is clean, legitimate, credible, and digitally accessible.

According to him, “A reliable and verifiable database will enhance the party’s ability to plan strategically, mobilize effectively, and make informed decisions. What our party is doing is to make sure that we know our numbers. In a family, the father or mother must know the number of their children and those living with them. That is how effective planning is done.”

While addressing concerns about possible technical challenges, the Hamzat urged party members to remain patient as registration officials have been adequately trained to manage network issues and other operational difficulties. He also admonished them to actively participate in the registration process to confirm their status as bona fide members of the APC.

“Where challenges arise, our teams know what to do and who to contact. That level of preparedness is one of the strengths of this exercise,” he added.

Speaking on the broader political significance of the initiative ahead of future elections, Dr. Hamzat emphasized that elections are fundamentally about people and effective mobilization.
