United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has apologised to actress Bolaji Ogunmola and other passengers affected by a recent flight disruption in Ekiti.
Ogunmola had called out the airline on Thursday after delayed flights left her stranded, affecting her travel back to Lagos for a film shoot and causing both professional and financial losses.
In response, UNA explained that flight UN0623, scheduled for January 7, 2026, was disrupted due to unscheduled aircraft maintenance. Passengers were promptly informed via email and text messages.
The airline’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, said the flight was reintroduced on January 8, 2026, even though the Ekiti–Lagos route was not part of the day’s scheduled operations. UNA assured passengers that the move complied with NCAA Consumer Protection Regulations and demonstrated the airline’s commitment to passenger welfare.
In a statement, UNA said:
“We fully recognise the impact that flight delays and cancellations have on our passengers, particularly when they interfere with significant personal and professional commitments. We deeply regret that Ms. Ogunmola and other passengers were affected. We remain steadfast in our commitment to safety, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service, and we value passenger feedback as we continually work to improve our service delivery.”
The airline reiterated its dedication to meeting and exceeding passenger expectations and reaffirmed that safety and operational reliability remain top priorities.
