The late chieftains are Hon. Onojah James Ignatius, Special Adviser to the Governor and former Chairman of Igalamela Local Government Area; Hon. Jatto Onimisi Suleiman, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor; and Alhaji Alih Atabo, APC Chairman of Anyigba Ward in Dekina Local Government Area.
The Kogi State Government announced the deaths on Monday through a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo.
“The Government and people of Kogi State have received with profound sorrow the news of the passing of three distinguished sons of the state,” the commissioner said.
Fanwo described the late officials as dedicated and loyal public servants whose work advanced both the state and the APC. According to him, Onojah James Ignatius was a seasoned grassroots mobiliser and administrator with a strong commitment to community development. Hon. Jatto Onimisi Suleiman was known for his humility, diligence, and prioritization of public interest, while Alhaji Alih Atabo was praised for his steadfast devotion to party unity and progress at the ward level.
The statement did not provide details on the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the government, and the people of Kogi State have extended heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and associates of the late chieftains, as well as the entire APC family.
“We commiserate with the people of Igalamela, Okene, Dekina, and all whose lives were touched by their selfless service. Their legacies of dedication and sacrifice will continue to inspire us,” Fanwo added.
