Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, despite the backing of top All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders cannot defeat FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, in this on-going feud, according to Primate Elijah Ayodele.
Speaking during a recent church service, Ayodele warned Fubara to humble himself before Wike and leave the outcome in God’s hands.
“Fubara cannot defeat Wike. Even with the support of all APC leaders, he would still lose. He should humble himself before Wike and let Wike do what he wants and leave the rest for God,” the cleric said.
He added, “You don’t know what Fubara has done in his past life that he is paying for now. People who are saying they would stand by him, when he falls, he will feel the pains only. Fubara should take it easy oo.”
Ayodele’s remarks come as political tensions in Rivers State escalate.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has reportedly stepped in to mediate the standoff between Fubara and Wike, a move seen as unprecedented at this stage of the conflict. The intervention follows the impeachment process initiated by the Rivers House of Assembly against Governor Fubara.
Tinubu’s involvement aims to balance the influence of both leaders ahead of the 2027 presidential election. “Fubara commands widespread grassroots support, while Wike remains a powerful figure capable of swaying political loyalty when engaged,” BKO said.
