Dr Kunle Fagbemi, a Nigerian security and defence scholar, has claimed that the efforts made by the Nigerian government to lobby to the United States, will not make an impact on the state of things in the country.

While speaking with Arise Television, Fagbemi questioned the need for the $750,000 monthly allocation budget meant for advocacy.

He explained that the funds could be used to create a better life for the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.

“This lobbying effort casts doubt on the officials of the Nigerian state who have been voraciously denying the existence of a Christian genocide. In terms of development, if you are to look at the spectrum of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, you will discover there is a lot that we can do and achieve deploying that resource. Particularly when you look at it from the angle of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, that do not have access to various amenities, that will ensure that they have a standard livelihood and be properly catered for and allowed to live like human beings,” he said.
