A man who disguised himself as a delivery rider to carry out a series of shootings in west London has been sentenced to 38 years’ imprisonment for attempted murder and firearms offences.
Jazz Reid, 33, of Iffley Close, Uxbridge, was sentenced on Thursday, January 15, at the Old Bailey after being convicted of attempted murder, two counts of wounding with intent, three counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and three counts of possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life.
The convictions relate to a series of shootings in Ladbroke Grove, Notting Hill and Notting Dale in late 2024, during which three people were shot, including an eight-year-old girl who was injured on her birthday.
The court heard that Reid meticulously planned the attacks, using a converted e-bike and a delivery rucksack to disguise himself.
On October 9, 2024, he shot a 27-year-old man in the thigh at the entrance of a residential building in Notting Hill. On November 11, he targeted a 34-year-old man in Notting Dale, firing multiple shots. Thirteen days later, he attacked the same man again while he was in a car on Southern Row, Golborne, striking him several times and also wounding the young girl seated in the front passenger seat.
Both victims survived, but the 34-year-old man sustained life-changing injuries.
Metropolitan Police detectives traced Reid’s movements using CCTV footage, mobile phone analysis and number plate recognition data.
A loaded pistol was later recovered from his home, with forensic evidence linking the weapon to the shootings.
Detective Inspector Richard Scott described the crimes as “carefully planned” and said Reid was intent on killing his targets, adding that his conviction would bring some measure of justice to the victims.
The Metropolitan Police said the sentence reflects its ongoing crackdown on gun crime, noting significant reductions in shootings and firearm seizures across London.
