Shettima, who represented President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of Guinean President Mamadi Doumbouya in Conakry last Friday, was received on arrival by Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and officials of the Nigerian mission in Switzerland.

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Sunday arrived in Davos, Switzerland, to lead Nigeria’s delegation to the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and inaugurate the first-ever Nigeria House, a sovereign pavilion on the Davos Promenade designed to showcase the country’s investment, cultural, and economic opportunities to global leaders.

The Nigeria House, created through a public-private partnership, will host ministerial engagements, investment roundtables, and cultural diplomacy events throughout the forum. Shettima is expected to formally inaugurate the facility during his visit.

Speaking to journalists, Dr. Oduwole said Nigeria would use the pavilion to present four strategic playbooks highlighting President Tinubu’s economic reforms. She added that the facility would showcase Nigeria’s solid minerals, climate-smart agriculture, creative, and digital sectors to investors from around the world.

During the WEF meeting, Shettima is scheduled to present Nigeria’s 2026 economic outlook and participate in plenary sessions on the responsible deployment of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology. He will also hold bilateral meetings with heads of state, multinational executives, and leaders of international development finance institutions.
