Haruna Ogweda’s professional journey reflects a rare commitment to excellence, discipline, and sustained high performance. Known for his precision-driven approach and analytical depth, Ogweda has consistently demonstrated what it means to operate at the highest standard across demanding environments, earning recognition for both intellectual rigor and leadership capacity.
This culture of excellence was firmly established early in his career. At the University of Lagos, Ogweda distinguished himself through exceptional consistency, graduating from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in 2019 as the Best Graduating Student with a First Class Honours degree and a cumulative grade point average of 4.50 on a 5.00 scale. His performance placed him at the top of his cohort, with the highest scores recorded across several courses in his graduating set.
One of the most defining moments of his academic record was his performance in Probability Theory, where he achieved a record-breaking score of 99 out of 100 in MAT 210. The achievement, which remains the highest recorded score in his set, earned him the nickname “Haruna99” among peers and faculty, reflecting both recognition of his technical mastery and his reputation for excellence in quantitative reasoning.
Ogweda’s performance did not go unnoticed at the institutional level. In April 2019, he received the Sunmonu Prize as the Best Overall Graduating Student of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Science. His sustained excellence also earned him multiple competitive scholarships, including the University of Lagos Annual Endowment Fund Award, received consecutively over four academic years, as well as national recognitions such as the NNPC TOTAL Scholarship, the MTN Foundation Science and Technology Scholarship, and the Agbami Juboku Foundation Scholarship.
Beyond academic achievement, Ogweda demonstrated balance, teamwork, and leadership through extracurricular engagement. He represented the Department of Mathematics in the Dean’s Cup, earning a silver medal in soccer. The experience highlighted his ability to perform under pressure while maintaining excellence across multiple commitments.
Today, Haruna Ogweda’s record reflects more than outstanding academic achievement. It represents a mindset rooted in discipline, continuous improvement, and accountability. His journey underscores the value of consistency over time and the impact of setting high standards, qualities that continue to shape his professional trajectory and influence his work in complex, performance-driven fields.
