Hon. Ziphion Chrysanthus marks birthday, draws recognition for governance, security

Hon. Ziphion Chrysanthus, Liaison Director for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and Security Agencies at the Plateau State Abuja Liaison Directorate, marked his birthday on Monday amid commendations from colleagues and public figures for his contributions to governance, security coordination and community development.

Chrysanthus, a public servant and policy advocate, has played a key role in strengthening coordination between Plateau State and federal institutions, particularly in areas relating to security, intergovernmental engagement and policy alignment.

Role in Governance and Security Coordination

In his capacity as Liaison Director, Chrysanthus has been involved in facilitating collaboration between Plateau State and national security institutions. His work has focused on improving communication between state and federal authorities, as well as advocating policy approaches aimed at addressing security challenges through inclusive and community-focused strategies.

In recent public engagements, he has contributed to national conversations on security reform, including calls for deeper consideration of decentralised policing structures as part of broader efforts to enhance responsiveness and accountability in law enforcement.

Academic and Strategic Training Milestone

In 2025, Chrysanthus completed the Higher Management of Defence and Strategic Course at the National Defence College (NDC), Abuja, becoming the first state government official to graduate from the programme. The course is regarded as one of Nigeria’s highest-level strategic and defence training platforms.

Speaking at a reception held to mark the achievement, Chrysanthus said the training broadened his understanding of national security management, strategic decision-making and governance in complex environments, adding that the knowledge gained would continue to inform his public service.

Community Engagement and Philanthropy

Beyond his official duties, Chrysanthus is also known for community-focused initiatives, including support for educational programmes, youth empowerment efforts and humanitarian assistance in underserved communities within Plateau State and other parts of the country.

Recognition from State Leadership

The Plateau State Government has previously acknowledged his academic achievement at the National Defence College, describing it as a significant milestone and a positive reflection of the state’s engagement with national policy and security institutions.
