Two Lagos men identified as Okewale Oluleke, and Oluwasegun Oluwasanmi, were on Thursday arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly posting inflammatory publications on Facebook using the profiles “Lagos Concern” and “Prince Chigo.”

Police docked Oluleke, 48, and Oluwasanmi, 50, on a four-count charge, bordering on conspiracy and breach of peace.

The prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikhayere, alleged that the defendants, along with others still at large, committed the offences between August and December 2025.

According to the prosecution, the alleged offensive social media publications by the two men are capable of disturbing public peace in Lagos.

Ikhayere also alleged that Oluleke sent an electronic message via WhatsApp to a public officer on Sept. 20, 2025.

These actions, the prosecutor argued, could disrupt public order.

The prosecutor said the charges contravened Sections 412, 413(2), and 416 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The prosecutor requested the court to remand the defendants and set a hearing date.

She also expressed her intent to submit exhibits, including mobile phones allegedly used in committing the offences.

Magistrate Mr L.A. Owolabi granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N400,000 each with two responsible sureties, pending trial.

He adjourned the case until Feb. 26 for mention and continuation of proceedings. (NAN)
