Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold has explained why he deliberately avoids conflict, saying peace of mind remains his top priority.

Speaking in a recent video making the rounds online, the Orente crooner said he consciously chooses to stay away from trouble, stressing that a quiet and peaceful life is more important to him than unnecessary confrontations.

“Some of us, we just don’t like trouble. In fact, I don’t want to be near it. I just want to live,” the singer said.

Adekunle Gold attributed his decision to self-awareness, noting that he understands his own temperament and prefers restraint to avoid regret.

“Me, I know myself. My mouth is not good at all. Anybody who knows me knows my mouth is not good. So I don’t even want to say anything out of regret. I’d rather just step away,” he added.

The singer, however, clarified that choosing peace should not be mistaken for weakness or an inability to defend himself when necessary. According to him, walking away from trouble is a conscious decision rooted in maturity, not fear.

He also questioned why some people actively seek conflict, urging them to embrace peace instead.

“What is your mind like? Why do you not like peace? Why do you not like peace of mind? Why don’t you just walk away?” he asked.
