Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has issued a strong warning to his supporters, cautioning them against making insulting or inflammatory remarks about former governor and NNPP national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The governor said any act of disrespect toward Kwankwaso would attract disciplinary action.
The warning was delivered through the Director-General of Media and Publicity, Government House, Bature Tofa, during a motorcycle distribution event at the Open Space Theatre, Government House, Kano.
Tofa described Kwankwaso as a respected political leader whose contributions to the state’s politics must be recognised regardless of ongoing political developments.
“We will not accept indiscipline or insults against the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Anybody who engages in such behaviour will face the consequences,” Tofa said.
He urged supporters of Governor Yusuf to exercise restraint and political maturity, particularly in light of heightened tensions following recent political realignments in the state.
“To maintain peace and unity among our supporters, political differences should not degenerate into personal attacks or abusive conduct,” he added. He emphasised that respect for leaders and discipline within the political structure are essential for stability and effective governance.
The warning comes amid ongoing reactions to Governor Yusuf’s recent resignation from the NNPP, a development that has generated mixed reactions among members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and residents across the state
