IGI To Sponsor Players To Europe
Two outstanding players at the just concluded IGI U-19 Football Talent Hunt will be sponsored to Europe for trials in January 2102.
Executive Vice Chairman of Industrial And General Insurance IGI, Mr. Remi Olowude disclosed this at the final of IGI U-19 Football Talent Hunt held recently at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
He said the performance of the players that took part in the talent hunt was impressive and his company has penciled down two players that will be sponsored to Europe for trials next month
“As part of the reward package, IGI will sponsor two most outstanding players in this competition to Europe for trials in clubs. We are going to do everything possible to ensure that the two players sign for clubs there,†he said.
Olowude revealed that plans have been concluded to offer employment to 15 players who had done well in the talent hunt.
This kind gesture, according to him, is part of the company social responsibility and its contribution to the development of football in Nigeria.
Some of the coaches who took part in the talent hunt expressed satisfaction with success of the programme, saying that the event has really brought out the best from the participants.
Coach Taiwo Enegwea whose Blue team won the overall winners of the football competition told P.M.Sports that the talent hunt helped the coaches discovered talents that can be groomed for future local and international age-grade football competitions.
