The Chairman of Accord Party in Osun, Mr Victor Akande, has assured of harmony within party in the state, stressing “there are no factions.”

Akande, who made the assertion against the backdrop of the Aug. 8, governorship election in the state, said this on Wednesday in Osogbo on the sidelines of the 51st meeting of the Veteran Journalists Association, popularly known as Frontliners.

He said that Gov. Demola Adeleke’s willingness to join the party was based on its political ideology, as well as its clear vision and mission for the state.

According to him, claims of internal crisis and factions within the party are being spread by opposition parties.

“There is no internal crisis or faction in the Accord Party and what people are hearing are propaganda from the opposition.

“Gov. Ademola Adeleke remains our candidate and party’s flag bearer for the Aug. 8, governorship election, he said.

Akande said that some unidentified individuals were attempting to cause rancour in the party but stressed that there was no faction.

The chairman questioned the intentions of these individuals saying their activities had been reported to the police.
