“The victim was rescued without any injury due to the prompt response of our officers and the effective synergy with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria. One suspect was arrested, while investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang,” Usman said.

The Kebbi State Police Command has rescued two kidnap victims and arrested one suspect following coordinated security operations in Kalgo and Dandi Local Government Areas.

Police spokesman, SP Bashir Usman, confirmed the development on Friday, describing the operations as part of ongoing efforts to deny criminals refuge in the state.

“The victim was rescued without any injury due to the prompt response of our officers and the effective synergy with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria. One suspect was arrested, while investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang,” Usman said.

A day later, police operatives in Dandi LGA swiftly responded to the abduction of a 50-year-old man, Garba Bachal, from Maigwaza village. The kidnappers reportedly fled after sighting security operatives, abandoning the victim.

Bachal was taken to a nearby hospital for medical checks and is said to be recovering. Police have since increased patrols and surveillance in the area.

“Our monitoring teams remain on ground, and we have strengthened patrols and intelligence gathering to ensure that criminal elements do not regroup,” Usman added.

Residents have praised the timely intervention, noting that it prevented prolonged captivity and ransom negotiations. The police urged the public to continue providing useful intelligence to support security efforts across the state.
