The management of Federal University of Kashere (FUK) has described report alleging that the institution was attacked by bandits as false, misleading and a calculated attempt to cause panic among students to disrupt its ongoing first semester examinations.
Janet Ezekiel, the Chief Information Officer of the university said this in a statement issued to Journalists in Gombe on Saturday.
The information officer of FUK described the report as false, misleading and a calculated attempt to cause panic among students and members of the public, as well as to disrupt the ongoing first semester examinations.
She clarified that no such incident occurred within the university community.
Ezekiel therefore urged the public to completely disregard the information circulating on social media.
According to her, the FUK management, in collaboration with security agencies, including the police, has the situation fully under control, and academic activities are proceeding normally without any disruption.
Ezekiel further reassured parents, guardians and the general public that there “is no cause for alarm”.
She also advised everyone to rely solely on verified and official FUK communication channels for accurate information. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
