Wema Bank unveils Evolution of Love Campaign for Valentine’s Day

Wema Bank has unveiled its 2026 Valentine’s Day campaign, “Evolution of Love, powered by the bank,” a customer-focused initiative designed to celebrate the many forms of love beyond romance, while rewarding customers with cash prizes, luxury experiences and a celebrity performance for a newlywed couple.
The campaign follows the recent launch of “ALAT: The Evolution,” the upgraded version of the bank’s digital platform, and reflects Wema Bank’s broader strategy of blending innovation with emotional connection.
As Nigeria’s oldest indigenous bank and the pioneer of Africa’s first fully digital bank, Wema Bank said the initiative is aimed at recognising how love evolves across different stages of life and relationships.
Under the campaign, customers are grouped into four categories: singles (self-love), friends (friendship), married couples, and couples getting married in February.
Participants are required to create a “Love Goal” on the ALAT app and submit a one-minute video on social media, sharing how their love journey has evolved.
Gifts on offer range from cash rewards and spa vouchers to holidays and fully sponsored getaways. One couple getting married in February will also enjoy a special performance by a celebrity artiste at their wedding.

Oseni added that the bank’s goal is to ensure every customer feels valued and celebrated this Valentine’s season and beyond.
To qualify, customers must activate SAW, the voice banking assistant on the upgraded ALAT app, create and fund a “Love Goal,” and transact with their ALAT or Wema card between February 1 and February 10. Entries must be shared on social media using the hashtag #ALATEvolutionofLove, while tagging @alat_ng and @wemabank.
