Kendrick Lamar emerges as Grammy’s most-awarded rapper

American rapper and record producer Kendrick Lamar Duckworth, popularly known as Kendrick Lamar has broken Jay Z’s Grammy record of being the most awarded rapper.

The 38-year-old rapper won four Grammy Awards at 68th Annual Awards ceremony, totaling his Grammys to 27.

His album ‘GNX’ won the Best Rap Album, while his collaboration with SZA, ‘Luther’, won the Best Melodic Rap Performance. Kendrick’s collaboration with Lefty Gunplay, ‘TV Off’ also won the Best Rap Song as well as his collaboration with Clipse, ‘Chains & Whips’, which took home the Best Rap Performance award.

“I’m not good at talking about myself but I express it through the music,” he said on stage.

Jay Z’s wife, Beyonce, however, still remains the most awarded artiste in Grammy history, with 35 wins.
