Anambra Teaching Hospital Takes Off
The Anambra Commissioner for Health, Professor Amobi Ilika, says the state’s University Teaching Hospital (AUTH) has taken off with the inauguration of its governing board.
Ilika told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Thursday that consultants in different fields of medical practice had also been employed for the hospital.
He called on patients, especially those who have problems in accessing healthcare facilities due to the lingering doctors’ strike in the state, to avail themselves of the hospital’s services.
Ilika explained that the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria would visit the hospital early in the new year to assess facilities on ground for its accreditation.
According to him, medical students of the state university will have access to facilities at the hospital immediately after accreditation.
