The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has dismissed a fake press release circulating on social media, which falsely claimed that the agency had announced a recruitment exercise.

In a statement, NAFDAC clarified that the purported announcement did not originate from the agency and warned the public to be cautious of fraudulent information aimed at misleading and extorting unsuspecting applicants.

“While NAFDAC periodically conducts recruitment exercises to engage qualified Nigerians, no such announcement has been made at this time,” the statement read.

The agency urged members of the public to rely solely on information from its official website and recognised communication channels to avoid falling victim to scams.

NAFDAC reminded Nigerians that all authentic recruitment information is communicated exclusively through verified channels, and advised citizens to remain vigilant against fake announcements.
