Glo Donates N22m To 40 Nigerian Orphanages At Christmas
National operator and the nation’s wholly indigenous telecommunication network Globacom, has concluded the donation of cash and consumable materials to inmates of 40 orphanages across Nigeria in celebration of the yuletide.

The gesture is informed by the company’s appreciation of the underprivileged and the need to identify with them, especially on occasions such as Christmas.
The Group Chief Operating Officer, Mohammed Jameel, said that giving back to the society, especially the underprivileged, is a major commitment by Globacom.
“We are pleased to identify with the poor and the needy,’’ he said, adding that “Globacom’s business objective far transcends economic gains, given its ownership and pledge at launch.’’
Jameel observed that Christmas is about showing love, through caring and sharing.
“The reason for the season is the celebration of the birth of Christ; his life and his sacrifice and we are very pleased to share the joy of the moment with our people.”
He noted that business concerns have a moral obligation to touch their environment and enrich the lives of its citizens. ‘’That is why we at Globacom took up this initiative, to show our love and deep concern for the plight of the less privileged.’’
He thanked the government for the enabling environment and promised that Globacom will continue to fulfill its obligations to the country and to the people.
Commenting on the donation to the Enugu motherless home, the Matron, Mrs Ezinne Chinyere thanked Globacom for bringing joy and meaning to the inmates.
“This is another testimony to the love Globacom has for the country and its people,’’ she said, adding that the donation will go a long way to brighten the future of the children.
Also at the Oluyole Cheshire home Ibadan, Mrs. Tinu Jaya, the matron noted that the company has not failed on its promise to make life more abundant for Nigerians since the launch of Glo.
“Glo’s patriotic zeal to empower Nigerians distinguishes her as a responsive and responsible organisation,’’ she added.
