Abducted worshippers from the Kurmin Wali community, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have reportedly been released by bandits.
The church attacks which took place on Sunday, happened while church services were ongoing. The bandits invaded three churches and abducted over 170 worshippers.
Reports claim that 80 worshippers escaped while being led into the bush and found safety in neighbouring villages. While speaking with PUNCH online, Ishaku Dan’azumi, the Village Head of Kurmin Wali, confirmed the release of the remaining abducted individuals.
He explained that although he could not provide more details on the incident, he could confirm that the released victims were with the government in Kaduna
“I got the information of their release this morning. They are currently with the government in Kaduna,” he stated.
Rev. Ma’aji Caleb, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State chapter, also confirmed their release, expressing his relief and gratitude to God.
“Glory be to God, my people are out. We hope to connect with them today. This was through our prayers and the efforts of the government,” he said.
