The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested Sani Garba Musa and Jamimah Ayuba who engage in importing, selling and distributing illicit devices capable of illegally accessing Multichoice Nigeria, MCN, Limited‘s broadcast signals to unsuspecting members of the public.

In a press release signed by Wilson Uwujaren, Acting Head, Media of the anti-graft agency made available to journalists this afternoon, EFCC stated that the two suspects allegedly set up contrivance or equipment that act as gateways which facilitates illegal ccess by non MCN devices to DSTV broadcast signals.

The arrest of Musa and Ayuba followed a petition by MCN to the EFCC dated July 5, 2011. The petition was referred to Counter Terrorism and General Investigation section of the Commission for discreet investigation.

A search warrant executed in the house and premises led to the recovery of different kinds of equipment for the illegal acquisition, decoding and transmission of various satellite signals.

According to Uwujaren, investigation into the case continues.
