The Rivers State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has said that governors are not needed to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
Wike made this statement on Saturday during the opening of the group’s office in Port Harcourt.
According to him, supporters of President Tinubu in Rivers State are strong enough to work independently without relying on any governor.
He said the group already has key political figures, including senators, members of the National Assembly, members of the state House of Assembly, local government chairmen, and party leaders from both the APC and PDP.
“We are working for President Tinubu. We don’t need a governor to mobilize us. We have what it takes to operate on our own,” Wike said.
He explained that their support for the President is based on personal commitment, adding that genuine loyalty does not need to be forced or directed by anyone.
Wike also noted that the unity shown by local leaders in Rivers State proves their determination to stand by President Tinubu and support his administration.
