Kunle Afod breaks down over Aunty Ajara’s death

Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has expressed deep grief over the death of his colleague, Aunty Ajara, describing her passing as shocking and unreal.

The veteran actor shared his tribute following reports that the actress, whose real name is Lasisi Ajarat Morenikeji, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, after a prolonged battle with illness.

Aunty Ajara was buried immediately in line with Islamic rites, with viral clips showing her wrapped in white fabric and laid to rest shortly after her demise.

Her family and friends are expected to hold an eight-day fidau prayer for her on Thursday, according to a memorial poster circulated online. The late actress was reportedly 27 years old at the time of her death.

Reacting to the tragic news, Kunle Afod described her passing as heartbreaking and pledged that she would remain in their hearts forever.

“It still feels unreal. Our beloved Ajara is gone, but she will live on in our hearts forever,” he wrote.

He also announced details of the fidau prayer and called on colleagues, fans, and well-wishers to remember the late actress in their prayers.
