Five suspected armed robbers have been arrested a raid on criminal hideouts and black spots by police operatives in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
Spokesperson for the Akwa Ibom Police Command, DSP Timfon John disclosed this in a statement to newsmen in Uyo on Tuesday.
She confirmed that that the suspects were apprehended following a raid on criminal hideouts and black spots in Eket on Monday.
The Police spokesperson said the five suspects included three men and two women.
The Akwa Ibom police spokesperson also revealed that dried leaves suspected to be a hard drug called Colorado, loud and other liquid intoxicants were recovered during the raid.
“Also recovered were tramadol and codeine tablets. Methamphetamine, otherwise known as ice, ATM card, and N15,800 cash,” she said.
The police spokesman said that the suspects were currently undergoing thorough investigation to ascertain their extent of involvement in criminal activities.
John said that the command remained committed to effective campaign against crime across the state.
She urged members of the public to report suspicious movements around their environment to the Police at all times.
