Tems ties Burna Boy with most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a Nigerian artiste

Nigerian singer Tems has reached a major career milestone, tying with Afro-fusion superstar Burna Boy for the most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a Nigerian artiste.

The Grammy-winning singer secured her seventh entry on the prestigious US chart this week with her single What You Need, which debuted at number 93.

This latest achievement cements Tems’ position as the first Nigerian female artiste to amass seven Hot 100 entries.

Tems’ previous appearances on the chart include collaborations and solo hits such as Wait For U with Future and Drake, the Essence remix featuring Wizkid and Justin Bieber, Fountains with Drake, Move featuring Grace Jones, as well as her solo tracks Free Mind and Raindance.

The milestone places Tems and Burna Boy jointly at the top among Nigerian acts, ahead of Wizkid, who has five entries, and Rema with two.

Other Nigerian artistes including Davido, Fireboy DML, CKay, and Lojay have also made appearances on the Hot 100.
