Members of Nigerian Amalgamated Traders/Artisans Welfare Development Association, in Kano, have rallied support for the state Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, ahead of the 2027 governorship election in the state.
The association’s Chairman in Kano, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Dalha Musa, expressed their solidarity and support to Governor Yusuf, following his recent defection from the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made this known when members of the association paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya.
According to the Chairman, “the state government is executing meaningful developmental projects across Kano under Governor Yusuf administration. the traders and artisans will continue to support the government to ensure the successful implementation of infrastructural projects as well as the sustenance of peace in the state.”
He also appealed to the state government to continue supporting traders and artisans and actively involve them in policies and programmes aimed at enhancing commercial activities in Kano State.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, described the recent political realignment by Governor Yusuf as, “a selfless and strategic decision aimed at prioritizing the overall interest and development of Kano State above personal or sectional considerations.”
Comrade Waiya explained that, “the Governor’s decision reflects his deep love for Kano State and his determination to fast-track development in line with global best practices, where peace, unity, and sustainable growth form the foundation of governance.”
According to him, “the move is consistent with the administration’s ‘Kano First’ agenda, which places the collective interest of the people above all other considerations.”
He noted that, “the people of Kano State are living witnesses to the Governor’s commitment to development,” stressing that, “about 900 projects are currently being executed across the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.”
These projects, he said, cut across critical sectors aimed at improving the living standards of the people.
The Commissioner further disclosed that, “Governor Yusuf has declared the current year as one that is devoted to the welfare and well-being of the people of Kano State, especially the youth. Traders and artisans across the state will also benefit immensely from the various policies and interventions designed to strengthen economic activities.”
