The one “bitter truth” about marriage – Eucharia Anunobi
Veteran actress turned evangelist, Eucharia Anunobi, has stirred a fresh conversation on modern relationships, warning that engaging in sexual intimacy before marriage acts as a “blindfold” that hides a partner’s true character.
In a hard-hitting message shared via her Instagram page on Friday, February 13, 2026—just a day before Valentine’s Day—Anunobi cautioned couples that physical chemistry often masks deep-seated flaws that only surface after the “I dos.”
Anunobi, known for her bold takes on morality and faith, argued that dating for several years is not a foolproof blueprint for a successful marriage. According to her, the real test of a partner’s character begins only when a couple lives under the same roof legally.
“S*x before marriage will always blindfold you not to see the flaws in your partner’s character,” she stated. “Until you are legally married and begin to live under the same roof, you can never ever see the true character of your partner.”
The evangelist urged couples to move beyond endless dating and focus on core pillars of partnership.
She advised that if the following four areas align, couples should proceed to marriage rather than “wasting each other’s life”
