Social commentator and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has likened Nasir el-Rufai to the late American financier and convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein was known to have surveiled people through hidden cameras and reording devices as as part of his criminal enterprise.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Omokri  made the comaprison between  Eppstein and el-Rufai because the Nigerian politician said in a TV interview that he was involved in listening secretly to a phone conversation of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu while admitting that it was illegal to do so.

Omokri who referenced el-Rufai’s comments, wrote: “By his own admission on live television, an argument can be made that Nasir el-Rufai is Nigeria’s version of Jeffrey Epstein, as seen in the famous #Epsteinfiles.”

According to Omokri, el-Rufai is “a notorious gatherer of negative information on people using illegal means.” He said,  “Six years ago, on Friday, 1 May 2020, when multiple attempts to hack my emails and social media accounts were made, I fingered Nasir el-Rufai as the main suspect.”

Omokri added that the incident followed an email in which el-Rufai allegedly described Southern Nigerian Christian women as “whores”, prompting Omokri to write about it in his ThisDay column. He said this led to a “massive hacking spree across almost all platforms.”

WSarned el-Rufai’s associates, he said: “If you are one of his paid ‘data boys’ or influencers, you had better watch your back!” Omokri also addressed prominent politicians, advising: “If you are Waziri Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, or Rotimi Amaechi, please note that there is no spoon long enough to dine with the devil.”

Omokri speculated on el-Rufai’s possible use of clandestine surveillance, asking rhetorically: “Given his admission on live TV yesterday, is it a stretch to imagine that, like Jeffrey Epstein, Nasir el-Rufai knows people who use hidden cameras in hotels and private residences to obtain compromising information about people?”

“If Nasir el-Rufa’i has your phone number, I would urge you to block him immediately; otherwise, we may start hearing all your secrets on television,” he said.
