The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two women in connection with an alleged child trafficking network and rescued three teenage girls in Yola.
According to the Command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, officers of the State Intelligence Department (SID) acted on credible intelligence to intercept the minors at Adamawa Sunshine Motor Park on February 17, 2026.
He identified the rescued teenagers as Naomi Linus (14 years), Agnes Thomas (16 years), and Patience Justine (15 years). Preliminary investigations suggest the girls were lured under false pretences of employment.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the minors were deceitfully brought to Yola and were in the process of being transported to Abuja under the pretext of securing employment for menial domestic work,” Nguroje said.
The suspects have been named as Hasiya Yuguda (35) of NEPA area, Jimeta, Yola North, and Ummulkhairi Abubakar (40) of Wuro-Hausa, Yola South. Another individual, Simon Boniface (38) from Bitakoyali in Taraba State, is reportedly assisting police with the ongoing investigation.
The rescued teenagers remain in protective custody while efforts continue to trace and reunite them with their families.
The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankwambo, reiterated the command’s commitment to combating child trafficking and abuse, urging members of the public to report any suspicious movements or activities involving minors to the nearest police station
