Neo responds with legal action to rape allegation

Nigerian media personality, Neo Akpofure has reacted to a rape allegation made by a lady on X (formerly known as twitter).

The BBNaija star was accused of rape by an X user identified as Ms. Arikan Udoka. She claimed that she was in a casual but sexual relationship with Neo during heir time in the University of Calabar, adding that she once confronted him about lying to her then got raped by him.

The lady also dared Neo to deny the allegations, calling him out to address the issue. Neo, however, did not respond with a tweet or statement, but with a legal action demanding for a retraction of the defamatory statement.

In a document released by his legal representatives, Neo demanded that she retracts her allegation and makes a public apology for what he described as untrue and misleading allegations.

”TAKE NOTICE that should you fail, refuse, or neglect to comply with these demands within the stipulated time, we have our Client’s firm and irrevocable instructions to initiate all appropriate legal proceedings against you without further notice. These proceedings will include but not limited to a civil action for defamation and pursuit of all other applicable remedies under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We strongly advise that you treat this matter with the utmost seriousness,” the statement added.
