‘APC must be voted out,’ Atiku joins ADC campaign for FCT election

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Chieftain of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC must be voted out in next Saturday’s Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Area Council election.

Atiku said this in a post on his X handle after joining other leaders of ADC to campaign for the party’s candidate for in the FCT Area Council Gwarimpa area of the city.

“We have been speaking with voters about why this election is important and why ADC candidates should be the right choice,” Atiku who was joined in the campaign by another chieftain of the party, Peter Obi, who was the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party and other leaders of the party said.

Atiku and Obi had indicated interest in the 2027 presidential ticket of ADC.

The former Vice President said the FCT Area Council election will demonstrate show the readiness or otherwise of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to conduct free and fair election.

The former Vice President also said the outcome of the FCT Area Council Election will indicate the preparedness of Nigerians to vote the APC, which according to him, has failed in all ramifications from power.

He therefore urged voters in FCT to resist all intimidations and come out and vote next Saturday.

This morning, I was in Gwarinpa with other leaders of our party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), including my brother, H.E. Peter Obi, ahead of the Saturday, February 21 FCT Council elections.

Atiku short post reads: “We have been speaking with voters about why this election is important and why ADC candidates should be the right choice.

“This election is very important. It will say a lot about how ready the managers of our elections are to deliver free, fair and credible polls. It will also say a lot about how ready people are to chase the APC out.

“I have encouraged voters to come out in large numbers to vote for ADC candidates across all FCT Councils in the elections.

“Our party has fielded candidates with competence, capacity and character to offer quality leadership across local councils in Abuja.

“Voters have the responsibility to defy all forms of intimidation and make the right choice.

“The APC-led Federal Government under Bola Tinubu has failed citizens on many fronts. It has failed to fix the economy. It has failed to fix our education. It has failed to keep our country safe. It has pushed the citizens of a rich nation into deeper poverty. It has allowed criminal elements to hold citizens to ransom.

“APC must be voted out in the coming elections, and we should start with the FCT elections! -AA
