‘I Want To Popularise Symphony’
Renowned music director, soloist and scholar, Dire Adarabierin-Oba has resolved to help make symphony popular among music lovers in Nigeria.

Speaking with Showbiz Trends, Adarabierin-Oba said this form of music is a special genre that should be introduced to all, especially children from the age of six, for its therapeutic appeal. According to the multi-instrumentalist, the growing love for the hip-hop culture will not do any of our artistes any good; rather they should turn to rock and symphony.
“Symphony is an extended musical composition in Western classical music, scored almost always for orchestra. We need to encourage our artistes to embrace this form of music as it will help them turn better performers,†he said.
The music lecturer, who also plays rock and symphony, hinted that he’s aware that his skills will first have to be tested elsewhere. He has recorded more than 100 songs, out of which seven tracks were selected for his debut album, Let’s make The World A Happy Place, launched in February 2011. The seven-tracker is a collection of songs dedicated to several social courses, illustrious individuals and activist groups.
He also spoke on his plans as a recording artiste to organise a full orchestra concert very soon. Adarabierin-Oba has made no secret of his desire to solicit for financial assistance from kind-hearted music lovers in his aspiration to procure musical instruments needed for rehearsals and performance.
