The managers of the affected warehouses were arrested for interrogation. Preliminary investigations linked the facilities to a company identified as BY Ventures, prompting NAFDAC to extend its operations to the company’s supermarkets in Minna, where additional expired products and counterfeit Goya oil were reportedly found. These supermarkets were also sealed.
The Managing Director of BY Ventures, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo, was invited for questioning and reportedly admitted ownership of the expired products.
Akintola stated that NAFDAC’s investigation is ongoing and that regulatory sanctions will be imposed at the conclusion of the exercise to serve as a deterrent to others.
