EFCC Spokesman, Babafemi Quits

The spokesman for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Femi Babafemi, has resigned his appointment with the anti-graft agency.

Babafemi, who threw in the towel on Tuesday, has been on vacation since his erstwhile boss, Mrs. Farida Waziri was replaced by Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde as the acting chairman of the commission.

Babafemi was appointed the commission’s spokesman after Mrs. Waziri took over from Nuhu Ribadu as EFCC boss in 2008.

It is not clear where Babafemi will now pitch his tent. It is doubtful if he will return to the newsroom where he worked, precisely with The Sun newspapers before his appointment by the EFCC in 2008.

He declined to pick his call when P.M.NEWS tried to contact him this morning over the development.
