RCCG pastor’s curse fails as lady tweets after death prophecy

A social media drama that erupted on Monday involving an RCCG pastor, Bola Abiodun, and a lady identified as Tomisin on X has taken a surprising twist.

The incident began when the lady, @tomisin_ms, addressed the cleric as “Mr Abiodun” while accusing “his boys” of inappropriate conduct. The pastor, who identifies online as Dr Bola Abiodun, fired back sharply:

“I’m a ‘Dr’, not a ‘Mr’. Don’t refer to me as MR again. I’m not your mate.”

The exchange quickly escalated, with the lady continuing to taunt him using “mr” in lowercase. In response, Abiodun invoked his spiritual authority, warning:

“I’m anointed man of God. I can curse you now and it’ll take effect for the rest of your lives. Bible says touch not my anointed… Try me and see.”

Things took a more dramatic turn when the cleric issued what many described online as a death prophecy:

“If you don’t apologize to me in the next 5 minutes, you may not wake up tomorrow. I, Pastor Dr Bola Abiodun, hereby pronounce a curse on u that if you don’t retract & apologize… u shall pass on to glory in your sleep at 11pm on 23rd Feb, ’26.”

Checks by PM News now reveal that the prophecy did not come to pass. Tomisin has resumed tweeting, posting:

“Stay off twitter until banger boys start parading ‘their’ pictures with RIP ……my parents are active SM users. Abeg o! Abeg o”

The incident, which went viral and generated thousands of reactions, has sparked wide discussion on the boundaries of social media conduct and the role of religious figures online.
