Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has pledged to work closely with members of the state House of Assembly to deliver results for the people.

The governor made the remarks while congratulating Ukalikpe Napoleon and Loolo Bulabari Henrietta, winners of the recent bye-elections in Ahoada East and Khana State constituencies.

The elections, conducted on Saturday, February 21, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), filled vacant seats in the House. Both winners, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), emerged victorious in their respective constituencies: Napoleon in Ahoada East II and Henrietta in Khana State II.

Describing their victories as well-deserved, Governor Fubara urged the new lawmakers to work diligently and uphold the trust reposed in them.

“It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes,” he said.

The governor added, “I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the Rivers State House of Assembly for the progress of our state.”

He also commended residents of Ahoada East and Khana for conducting themselves peacefully before, during, and after the elections, calling their orderly conduct a demonstration of democratic maturity.
