Shanko Rasheed’s wife accuses singer of neglect after son’s death

The wife of Nigerian singer Shanko Rasheed has publicly accused the artiste of alleged abandonment and maltreatment following the death of their son.

The allegations surfaced days after the singer announced the passing of his child on social media, describing the loss as a tragedy no parent should experience.

In a video circulating online, the woman claimed the singer abandoned her while she was ill and left her to care for their three children alone.

According to her, she suffered an accident on October 11 which affected her legs and left her unable to work.

She alleged that shortly after, the family received a quit notice from their landlord and that the singer asked her to obtain a loan to pay rent.

She said she secured the money, but he allegedly collected it and left her and the children without support.

The woman further claimed they were later evicted from their residence and sought temporary shelter in a church.

She also accused the singer of failing to pay the children’s school fees despite repeated appeals.

According to her, their late son fell ill during the period and she struggled to finance his medical treatment through loans and assistance from well-wishers.

She called on Nigerians for help and claimed the singer has taken custody of their two surviving children.
