Faithia Williams announces burial plans for late mum

Nollywood actress Faithia Williams has announced the burial arrangements for her late mother, Mrs Gloria Uzoamaka Williams.

The actress lost her mother last month on the eve of her 55th birthday celebration. According to reports, close associates withheld the heartbreaking news at the time so she could mark her special day.

An emotional Faithia had earlier expressed that the reality of her mother’s passing had not fully sunk in, describing her as her “cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend and gist partner.”

Sharing a flier of the funeral programme on social media, the actress revealed that a wake-keep will hold on Friday, March 6, followed by interment and lying-in-state.

A thanksgiving mass is scheduled for Sunday, March 8, at St. Monica Catholic Church.

However, Faithia stated that the ceremonies will be held privately and strictly by invitation for close friends and relatives.

“I want to specifically thank everyone who has reached out since the demise of my dear mother. I’m truly grateful for the emotional support, the calls, the visits, and the show of love. May Allah (SWT) bless you all,” she said.

“For those who have asked for the burial details, the family has decided on a private ceremony strictly for close friends and relatives.

“However, a later date will be announced for the final burial ceremony that will accommodate all and sundry.

“Please note that if this invitation does not come from a designated number, there will be no admission into the hall.”

She thanked fans and well-wishers once again for their support, saying she does not take their expressions of love for granted.
