Popular Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has dismissed reports claiming that a woman who accused him of rape has been sentenced to six years in prison.
Reports circulating on social media on Thursday, March 5, alleged that the young woman with the X (formerly Twitter) handle @chubbiediva had been sentenced after she was arraigned for falsely accusing the singer of rape and abuse of a minor.
Reacting to the claims, Okoye described the report as “fake news.”
The singer made the clarification through a post shared on his Instagram Stories, where he refuted the viral claim about the alleged jail sentence.
The controversy began on September 23, 2025, when the X user made allegations against Okoye while reacting to a birthday post celebrating the singer’s wife, Ifeoma.
According to earlier reports, another X user had accused Okoye of cheating on his former wife, Anita, with their maid. In response, @chubbiediva alleged that the singer had raped or coerced the maid and claimed that he later sent his wife and sister-in-law out of the house after the incident.
Okoye later responded to the allegation, insisting that the claims were false and vowing to pursue legal action against the accuser.
