Nollywood actress Caroline Hutchins Danjuma has spoken out about the stigma often faced by divorced women, saying society frequently makes them feel responsible for the failure of their marriages.
The actress shared her thoughts in a message marking International Women’s Day, where she reflected on the judgment and pressure many divorced women experience.
According to Caroline, the world often unfairly places blame on divorced women, making them carry emotional burdens and social stigma.
She revealed that someone once advised her to stop posting photos of her children on social media so as not to scare away a potential partner.
However, the actress said she rejected the suggestion, stressing that she would never hide her children for anyone.
“Someone once told me, ‘Don’t post your children. The right man may run away.’ Let the little boy run. I am good,” she said.
Caroline stated that she is proud to be the mother of three children, aged 18, 17 and 11, describing them as a divine gift she would never trade for anything.
She also expressed gratitude to her ex-husband for playing an active role in their children’s lives.
“My children are deeply loved and exceptionally cared for by their father in every way, and for that I remain grateful,” she added.
The actress explained that motherhood has played a significant role in shaping her personality, teaching her resilience, forgiveness, strength and unconditional love.
“Motherhood shaped me into the woman I am today. Being called a mother is one of the greatest honours of my life,” she said.

Caroline further emphasised that motherhood is not a limitation but rather her greatest legacy.
Caroline was previously married to businessman Musa Danjuma, the younger brother of former Minister of Defence Theophilus Danjuma. The couple got married in 2007 but divorced in 2016.
Despite their separation, Caroline has previously stated that they remain on good terms and continue to co-parent their children.
She also revealed in a past interview that although their divorce was formalised legally, they still maintain mutual respect and affection for each other.
The actress added that she still uses the surname Danjuma outside social media but changed it online to avoid dragging her former husband into public controversies.
Caroline concluded her message by celebrating women around the world and encouraging them to remain strong.
“Motherhood is not my limitation; it is my greatest legacy. Happy International Women’s Day to every woman out there. We are conquerors,” she said.
