“Be vigilant,” Police alert Borno residents as Ramadan enters last 10 days

The Borno State Police Command has urged Muslim faithfuls and other residents of the state to remain vigilant and security conscious as the Ramadan entered the last 10 days.

The spokesperson of the Command, Nahum Kenneth Daso said this in a statement on Monday.

The police, in the Statement noted that the last 10 days of Ramadan are often characterized by increased movements and gatherings, especially during Tafsir, Iftar, and night prayers.

“While the Command recognizes the spiritual importance of this sacred period, residents are kindly advised to be mindful of their surroundings and take necessary precautions,” Daso said in the statement

Hence, the Command advised members of the public to promptly report any suspicious persons, movements, or objects to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency contact lines.

It also advised parents and guardians are also strongly advised not to leave their children unattended, particularly in crowded places, places of worship, and public gatherings.

Daso also revealed that following the directive of the Commissioner of Borno Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, the Command will intensify patrols, surveillance, and strategic deployments across Maiduguri and other parts of the state to ensure the safety and security of residents throughout this period.

“The Borno State Police Command wishes all Muslim faithful a peaceful and spiritually rewarding last ten days of Ramadan,” the statement concluded.
