Chairman of the Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State, Gbolahan Muyiwa Ayegbayo and his colleagues, Yusuf Bashir Akintegbe of Ejigbo South LCDA and Olayanju Kolapo Africa of Ejigbo West LCDA, have expressed profound sadness on the demise of a famous community leader and international business mogul, Chief Lawal Amuda Yusuf Obelawo, the Babalaje of Ejigboland.

The trio, in a condolence message, described the passing of the nonagerian philanthropist as a colossal loss to Ejigbo Local Government Area, Osun State and Nigeria at large.

They noted that the deceased was “a generous community developer, whose dedicated philanthropy has touched many lives, would be greatly missed.”

They described him as a giant in the business world and a beloved community champion whose business acumen spanned countries and never lost sight of his roots and the importance of community development, appreciating that his kindness, wisdom and dedication to humanity would never be forgotten.

According to the Chairmen, Late Chief Obelawo would always be remembered for bringing joy to people around him while his legacy of integrity, innovation and compassion would continue to inspire generations to come.

According to them, “the vacuum created by his demise would be hard to fill as he spent his life in impacting on the economic growth and development of Ejigbo community, Osun State and Nigeria at home and abroad, coupled with his numerous contributions to the growth of Islam and Christianity.”

They also commiserated with Oba Ogiyan and the entire Ejigbo community at home and in the diaspora, praying that the community would find strength and comfort in this time of grief.

They prayed the Almighty God to grant the deceased philanthropist Aljannatu Firdaws.
