Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has taken a distinct stance on the, often controversial, topic of paternity tests in Nigeria. The actor, while speaking with BBC Yoruba, spoke about his possible action if he ever finds out through a DNA test that his child is not biologically his.

The 45-year-old, explained that he would not abandon a child he raised from infancy because a test proved that they are not biologically related.

Salami further explained that it will be unfair to let a child suffer for a situation they did not create, adding that he cannot just walk away from a bond he had formed with the child since birth.

”If DNA says my child isn’t mine, and I have taken the child from infancy as mine, and the child also knows me as his father, I will wholeheartedly accept the child as mine. The child will claim my name forever and also see me as his father, because it’s not the child that created himself or herself. The issue will only be between me and my wife,” he stated.
