The reality TV star made the revelation while celebrating Mother’s Day, reflecting on her journey into motherhood and how it has transformed her life.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has revealed that there was a time in her life when she never wanted to give birth due to fear.

The reality TV star made the revelation while celebrating Mother’s Day, reflecting on her journey into motherhood and how it has transformed her life.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Queen admitted that years ago, she used to say she never wanted to become a mother because the idea of childbirth scared her. However, she said her perspective has completely changed and she now laughs at the thought.

According to her, motherhood has been one of the most beautiful experiences of her life and has helped shape her into a stronger and more determined person.

“Motherhood has been such an incredible journey. Funny enough, years ago, I used to say I never wanted to give birth because I was so scared. Now, when I think about it, I just laugh at myself. Life really has a way of changing your mind,” she wrote.

Queen added that becoming a mother has made her more focused, resilient and motivated to work harder in order to build a future her children will be proud of.

She noted that despite the challenges of motherhood, including sleepless nights and exhaustion, the love she feels for her child makes every sacrifice worthwhile.

“Today, all I want is to be the best mother I can be. Motherhood has made me more focused, more resilient and more motivated to work hard and build a future my kids will be proud of. Even on the days when I’m tired and running on little sleep, the love makes it all worth it,” she added.

She also expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to experience motherhood and used the moment to celebrate mothers around the world.

“Thank you, God, for this beautiful experience. I’m forever grateful. Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers around the world. Take your flowers mommies, you deserve them and so much more,” she wrote.

Queen’s journey into motherhood has previously been surrounded by controversy involving the father of her child, comedian Lord Lamba.

In leaked chats that circulated online, the reality star accused him of not being present in their daughter’s life and claimed he only sent N150,000 monthly for the child’s upkeep, which she described as insufficient.

She also alleged that during their relationship he was involved with other women and attempted to portray her as unfaithful.

Reports further indicated that Lamba once failed to appear in court during a hearing concerning custody of their daughter.

The controversy also resurfaced in 2024 when Lamba publicly acknowledged their daughter on the same day Queen announced her engagement to her partner, a move many believed was intended to overshadow her big moment.

However, Lamba denied the accusations, stating that his post was simply to clarify the paternity of his child. He added that although their relationship did not work out, both of them are trying to give their daughter the best life possible.

It was later reported that the comedian had filed a lawsuit seeking full custody of their daughter, claiming the reality star was unfit to raise the child.

Meanwhile, an Instagram blogger alleged that Lamba had initially distanced himself from publicly acknowledging the child and wanted the girl to be raised by his mother. The blogger also claimed that Queen has largely been responsible for taking care of the child’s needs.
