Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has celebrated herself on Mother’s Day, reflecting on her journey as a mother and applauding her resilience over the years.
Taking to her Instagram page, the movie star praised herself for staying strong through difficult moments and for never giving up even on days when it would have been easier to walk away.
In a heartfelt post, Dikeh noted that she is proud of herself for always showing up with courage, faith and determination despite challenges.
“Happy Mother’s Day to me. For never giving up, even on the days it would have been easier to walk away. For always showing up, with courage, faith and determination,” she wrote.
The actress also commended herself for believing in her purpose even when doubts tried to overwhelm her, adding that she has chosen to love herself, grow and continue becoming a better version of herself.
“For believing in myself when doubt tried to speak louder than purpose. For choosing to love myself, to grow, and to keep becoming,” she added.
Dikeh further stated that she has taken control of her life by rewriting her story and refusing to be defined by where she started.
“For rewriting my story, refusing to be defined by where I started, but by the strength, grace and faith that continue to shape where I am going.”
She also emphasised her commitment to serving God boldly and unapologetically while standing firm in her faith.
“Today I honour my strength, my resilience, my faith and my journey. God bless me for being me,” she wrote.
In another post shared on the special day, the actress posted a video of herself with her dog while appreciating her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, for making her a mother.
According to Dikeh, motherhood remains the most beautiful part of her life, as she expressed gratitude for her son and prayed for blessings upon Churchill as well as his mother.
Responding to critics who questioned her gesture, the actress maintained that Churchill remains the only man who has made her a mother and said she would not allow public opinion to dictate how she lives her life.
Dikeh and Churchill share a son together who recently turned 10.
To celebrate the milestone birthday, the former couple hosted a football-themed party for their son at the BMO Event Centre in Abuja, with family and friends in attendance.
The proud mother also made headlines after gifting her son a N350 million duplex as part of the celebration.
Speaking on the gesture, Dikeh revealed that she has been intentional about investing in properties for both herself and her son over the years and expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to do so.
The actress has previously made lavish gestures for her son. In 2021, she reportedly gifted him two acres of land and also purchased a star in his name as part of his birthday celebration.
